Hello again, I am so excited for you guys to read my new blog post today. Before you get into it, I want to share with you guys what has been going on in my life since my last post. I am 3 semesters away from getting my Bachelors and I can't tell you enough how ready I am to be finished with college. This last year has been one of the toughest years I have gone through. I am just ready to start my career fall of 2024.

This blog post is a little different than most, I have asked one of my closest friends, Karissa Bonet, to share something today with you guys. Kari, which is what most people call her, is the youngest friend I think I have ever had. The age difference between me and her is 6 years! But you would never know that she is as young as she is because she is very mature for her age. She is also mature in her walk with God and I am so excited for you to read what God has put on her heart.

Hey guys!! I want to start off by thanking Grace for giving me the opportunity to share with you guys a word of encouragement that God has put on my heart. Today I’m going to be talking about how the words you speak over your life have great power, and the authority you have when you speak.

Luke 10:19 NIV

“I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

In life, you’re going to face many different situations that may feel very overwhelming. You’re gonna experience your own type of storm, but every step of the way Jesus is right there with you. In the midst of your storm, you have to take captive of your words and speak with the authority you have. Jesus has given you the authority to overcome and face anything the enemy throws your way. In the times when you feel you’re at your lowest point, I want to tell you today that you are not alone!! It won’t be easy and it’ll be hard, but that’s when you lay it down at the feet of Jesus and trust that he has your situation under control because you already have your victory.

Proverbs 18:21 AMP

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.”

Most people don’t realize the power they hold with their words. When you speak about anything you should always be mindful of how you speak, especially over your own life. Something that I struggled with and had to work on was speaking life over my relationship with my Father. To give you a little back story, our relationship has always been kinda rocky and we don’t necessarily see eye to eye on things. I begin to grow hatred and resentment towards him. The words I used when dealing with that pain were always negative, and it took a huge toll on me and my relationship with God. Once I began to truly take authority over my words and discovered the power of forgiveness, my life was forever changed. I began to speak life over my relationship with him, and now I view our relationship from a completely different perspective. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy and I have my days but it’s something that I have to walk out each and every day.

I just want to encourage you today to truly think about how much power your words hold, and the authority you have when you speak. Maybe you got to work on some things in your life that you may not have realized you weren’t viewing in the correct way. Remember it’s not something that’s easy to do and it will take work on your end, but I can tell you that it is possible with the help from the Holy Spirit. I’m praying and believing with you over your situation, whatever it may be. You got this!!
