To be real, life is a challenge that has it's victories and sometimes it has defeats. It's part of what makes us become the person we are. Looking back at the past few months, I can see how things can knock stuff out of you.
Have you ever gotten hit in the stomach or back real hard, and it knocks the wind right out of you? Sometimes things happen just like that...in a blink of an eye! Well, I didn't mean to throw that in, but yeah! Things can change in the blink of an eye.
I'm so grateful for God's way of reminding me to not give up. Just when I need it most, He always seems to send a reminder. Well, a few weeks ago in youth class, one of my youth leaders, Quinton Higgins, ministered about courage. He used me as an example and how I write these blogs to be an encouragement. The funny thing is that I haven't written in awhile because of that BLAH feeling you get sometimes about life.
Take a minute and read Joshua 1:1-9.
When I started this blog, it was in my heart to write and share with you about my faith in the Lord and how I had no doubt that God is my healer. I stepped out in faith and believed in God that everything was gonna be fine. Everyday when I look at myself in the mirror, there is a constant reminder. The way I choose to see the reminder is up to me. I can look and be reminded of who God created me to be and allow the light of Christ to shine through my testimony to reach others around me. Or, I can look and be reminded of a tragic accident that took something from me and feel sorry for myself. That's the choice. There are days that I allow courage to rise in my heart, and there are days that I dis my courage and choose discouragement.
When Mr. Quinton ministered this message, he reminded me that you can't let trials bring you down because something good will always come out of it. I used to always be in the background when it came to ministry. Everyone in my family had visible gifts, whether it be serving or speaking or even their understanding of the word. However, this blog has helped me come out of my shell of insecurities and has given me a lot of confidence.
I just want to encourage you today to follow your heart because that's what I did, and I have touched a lot of people with it! Just because something in life tries to knock you down, don't give up! Things happen, but your purpose will always prevail!
